Demetra (Demi) Mutz [she/they] is a movement artist and dance-maker from Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of the Chicago Academy for the Arts and will graduate from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance in May of 2026. Throughout her time at the Conservatory, she has realized her passion for contemporary improvisation and increased her expressiveness through movement. She has performed works by Gustavo Sansano, Andrea Miller, and Nicole Von Arx amongst other internationally recognized artists, while at the Conservatory. Additionally to academic education, Demi has trained with Hubbard Street, Orsolina28, FlockWorks, Nuova Officina della Danza, DART, Whim W’him and others. She has also created choreographic works at the Conservatory. She was a 2025 Carmel Dance Festival Dance Fellow, where she performed works by Justin Rapaport and Alysia Johnson. When not dancing, Demi enjoys photography and reading books of all genres.
