Demetra (Demi) Mutz [she/they] is a movement artist and dance-maker from Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of the Chicago Academy for the Arts and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Boston Conservatory with a BFA in Contemporary Dance. Throughout her time at the Conservatory, she has realized her passion for contemporary improvisation and increased her expressiveness through movement. She has performed works by Gustavo Sansano, Andrea Miller, Chloe Crenshaw, and Nicole Von Arx, amongst other internationally recognized artists. Additionally to academic education, Demi has trained with Springboard Danse, Hubbard Street, Orsolina28, FlockWorks, NOD, DART, Whim W’him, Gallim and others. She has also created choreographic works at the Conservatory. She was a 2025 Carmel Dance Festival Fellow, where she performed works by Justin Rapaport and Alysia Johnson. During the summer of 2026, she was able to perform in Shanghai, Boston, and NYC. When not dancing, Demi enjoys photography and reading books of all genres.
